Stackroom vs Asset Panda

Asset Panda is a flexible platform that can be shaped to almost any workflow. That flexibility is genuinely powerful, and it is also the main reason teams tell us setup took longer than expected.

Honest take: Asset Panda leads on configurability for bespoke processes. Stackroom leads on working well out of the box, with pricing that does not scale per asset.

Why teams switch

What we hear from teams leaving Asset Panda

Configuration became a project

A platform that can model anything must first be told what to model. Without a dedicated owner, that phase stretches and adoption stalls before the tool proves its value.

Per-asset pricing capped the register

Teams told us they excluded low-value equipment to control cost, which is precisely the equipment that goes missing quietly.

They wanted defaults, not decisions

Most asset workflows are more similar than they appear. Sensible defaults that work on day one beat infinite flexibility that needs a workshop to configure.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Our process is unusual. Will Stackroom handle it?

Often yes, through custom fields, roles and departments. If your process genuinely requires bespoke workflow logic, Asset Panda's flexibility may suit you better, and we will say so rather than sell you the wrong tool.

Will we lose configuration we have already built?

Data and custom fields import cleanly. Bespoke workflow logic does not transfer directly, so it is worth a conversation about what that logic is actually achieving before you switch.

Can we import our data from Asset Panda?

Yes. Export your inventory to CSV and import it into Stackroom. Categories, locations and custom fields map across, and our team will help with the awkward parts of a larger migration.

How long does switching actually take?

Most teams import in the morning and run a real checkout the same afternoon. There is no implementation project and no professional services fee. The longest part is usually relabelling, and that can be done gradually.

Do we have to relabel everything?

No. If your existing labels carry a code you already track, import that code and keep using them. New QR labels can be printed on standard address stock as and when you need them.

What does Stackroom cost?

Pricing scales with your team rather than your item count, so registering more equipment never costs more. Current plans are on the pricing page, served from our billing API.

Outgrowing Asset Panda?

Import your data, print a sheet of labels, and run a real checkout the same day.
