That is not a flaw in Workwize. It is a signal about who it is built for, and worth taking at face value.
Hiring abroad slowed down
The case for a logistics platform is strongest when new starters appear in places where you have no office and no supplier. When hiring settles into one or two locations and you start buying locally again, the shipping capability sits idle while the record-keeping problem stays exactly where it was.
Finance wanted a count, not a shipping history
Knowing what was despatched to whom is useful. It is not the same as somebody confirming, on a date, that the item is present — which is what an auditor means by a count.
Book value is the other request that lands here. A purchase price is where depreciation starts, not where it ends.
The chairs and access cards were never in it

Are you still shipping equipment across borders?

Should a leaver in the HR system trigger recovery, or is a list enough?
Setyl automates the trigger from HR and identity data. Stackroom lists everything the leaver holds and can email a clearance certificate once it is all back, but a person starts it. Reftab and AssetSonar are records first — check how each handles offboarding before assuming either automates it.
Will anyone outside IT record handovers?

Moving your data out of Workwize
Workwize's record is built around shipments and assignments: what was bought, where it went, who received it. That is a reasonable spine for a register. Start by getting an export of devices with serial number, model, category and current holder — we cannot tell you which export formats your Workwize plan offers, so confirm that before you set a cut-over date.
In Stackroom, import people first and assets second, both by CSV, so each laptop lands against a real person rather than a name typed into a field. Categories, hierarchical locations, departments and custom fields hold the rest. If you are keeping Workwize, a custom field is the natural home for its order or shipment reference, so a record in one tool can be found in the other.
Remote equipment needs a decision rather than a column. For a laptop that lives at someone's home, the useful facts are the named holder and whether the item may leave the premises — Stackroom has a take-home permission per asset, enforced at checkout — rather than a street address. The holder can confirm receipt, which is the nearest thing to a signature when nobody was in the room; handover and return signatures are captured on a device, so they apply to items handed over in person.
What does not come across: courier tracking, warehouse stock, orders and MDM enrolment status. Those stay in Workwize or go nowhere. Can Stackroom track equipment kept at employees' homes?
